Product Description: Enjoy delicious waffles in seconds with this quick mix from The Vegetarian Express! Enriched with flax, sesame, and sunflower seeds, rich sources of omega-3 essential fatty acids. Also a great source of protein, calcium, and fiber. Makes nine 3" x 4" waffles.
Directions: Place 2 1/2 cups water in a blender. Add mix and 1 tsp. vanilla. Blend 30-45 seconds or until smooth. Pour on hot greased waffle iron and cook for 5-7 minutes. (Time will depend on taste and waffle iron). Enjoy with your favorite toppings. May be frozen and re-heated in toaster.
Serving Suggestions:
-Serve with bananas, peanut butter and syrup
-Serve with strawberries and whipped topping
-For Almond Waffles: Add 1 tsp. almond extract instead of vanilla extract.
-For Banana-Nutmeg Waffles: To batter in blender, add 1/2 tbsp. nutmeg into dry ingredients. When waffles are baked, serve with sliced bananas.
-For Lemon Poppy Seed Waffles: Follow recipe but add 1 tbsp. grated lemon rind. After blending, add 1 tbsp. poppy seeds before baking.
