With heavy pollution of the world's seas, overfishing, and depletion of the ocean's resources, they wondered how they could give Sophie what she wanted and still be responsible. They therefore set out to develop a line of vegan seafood so good people will eat them just because. Sophie's Kitchen hopes that these great-tasting Breaded Fish Fillets will help reduce our reliance on the ocean's resources--their company's effort to protect the environment and the lives that depend on it.Sophie's Kitchen Breaded Fish Fillets are excellent in a fish sandwich or served with "chips." Non-GMO TVP, the key ingredient, is protein made from soy or wheat. It is an excellent source of protein and fiber with zero cholesterol. It is used as a vegan substitute for meat protein. (Thaw the product in refrigerator enough to separate.)
Conventional Oven: Preheat to 400 degrees. Place the product on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the breading turns brown. Deep-Fry: Place enough oil in a heavy-bottom pan to fully submerge the fish fillets. Heat the oil on high heat. When the oil begins to bubble, drop the fillets in one at a time and cook for 1-2 minutes or until the breading turns brown. Ingredients: Textured vegetable protein (non-GMO soybean protein, wheat gluten, non-GMO corn starch, water for hydration), canola oil, modified tapioca starch, powdered cellulose, organic agave nectar, ginger, sea salt.
Breading: Multigrain blend (wheat, rye, barley, millet, flaxseed), whole wheat flour, wheat crumb, paprika, turmeric, modified tapioca starch, white pepper. (Pre-browned in canola oil). Nutritional Information:
