Field Roast sausages are made using traditional, old-country, sausage making practices. They begin, where all sausage lovers begin; with a grind--but of grain meat. They chop their own fresh vegetables; eggplant, Yukon Gold potatoes, onions and garlic; add some liquids: zesty lemon juice, rich red wine from a local winery, organic apple cider vinegar; and finally the seasonings: fennel seed, sweet red pepper, rubbed sage, ginger, Chipotle and Chili de Arbol peppers. And voila!; an artisan vegan sausage with sizzle, texture and personality! Four sausages per pack. 12.95 oz per pack.

Field Roast products are shipped frozen. Expiration date is 45 days after being thawed if kept refrigerated.

I have tried the italian and Mexican sausage. I have been vegan for 2 years and this is by far the best and closest tasting to the real thing. I use the italian on my homemade vegan pizza. I saute both products first and then add as my topping. The mexican i have put in a food processor to crumble it and have made quesadilla's. Delicious!
